Very central location, helpful staff, very comfortable accommodation
One criticism. Room staff knocked & opened door twice before check out at 12pm, at 8.32 am which woke us & again at 11.20 am while getting ready to depart, should there not be a system in place where by staff are informed when rooms have been vacate.

Great location
Room was very small for 3 adults, lacked atmosphere, no entertainment in the hotel despite it being Christmas time. Very basic 3 star hotel. For a few pound extra the Gresham is by far better and is just around the corner.

The bathroom was very small with a sliding door which didn't shut properly. Also room 222 was located over the Chinese Restaurant and the room vent couldn't be closed so we were left with a strong smell of Chinese food both evenings.

room very small and i had a small baby so the cot took up alot of space and he didnt have much room 2 play and baby cots are very uncomfortable other than that it was perfect and i would stay there again but without the baby

Clean room, comfortable beds, good facilities and great location
Room was very small. Booked for 4 people in order to ensure 3 beds (had 1 adult, 1 teenager and 1 child). The double was a sofa bed opened up. It would have been a really tight squeeze, both bed and room, for 4 people.

rooms were comfortable and bathrooms were a good size. Front desk staff were so helpful and could get you a taxi in a minute.
sidewalk area at front entrance was dirty and vagrants always present.

Room was a bit smaller than I expected but the price was reasonable so that's fair enough.
The thing I didn't like was that the bathroom had been cleaned with a mop or cloth that left a stale smell. I didn't complain because I was there 1 night, but had I been there longer I would have insisted on a move.

The position and cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. Rooms were well maintained and all members of staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The food did not match the rest of the hotel. The Irish breakfast was ok for those who wanted it but I prefer a healthier breakfast. The fruit presented was tinned not fresh and our dinner st night in Oscars was poor quality and badly cooked.

Need written instructions for air conditioner/heater in rooms. Bathtubs are very narrow and need a no-slip mat or something similar. Timed vent fan is annoying, but makes sense. Need more computers in lobby.

Standard rooms are a little on the small side. Loud banging noises woke us at 6.30am each morning.

On arrival the reception staff were great & helpful, the hotel is very handy for the shops, first time @ the hotel, will return someday.Some of the service staff were helpfull and pleasant. Beattrice served us on the Friday night,she was great.fab!!!!
rm 504 was a bit small,okay for a short stay,hairdryer should be in a drawer,the head servicer was very rude and abrupt,from Friday night till service on Sunday morning breakfast,he would just plonk you down @ the table,of he went.

Very central short distance from bus stop for airport coach. Choose a room away from the street and not overlooking the local (music) bars
Double bedded rooms seem smaller than single bedded rooms. Could update the televisions to HD some very strange images and colours on my television.

I have stayed at several Best Westerns and also stayed at this hotel before. Most staff very good particularly Peter on reception and Marta in the cafe very nice friendly and helpful. We had a twin room and a single room.
One room was not ready on arrival (my mum's who is 80) We were told the hotel was full and would be ready after an hour i.e. after 4PM!! The single had very little space and perhaps a single bed would be a better option to provide adequate space.

A convenient place to stay for the centre of Dublin. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful.
We had to ask to change rooms after the first night because there was alot of noise from a bar outside. The second room was fine.

Ideal situation-very convenient to all amenities. Second visit will hopefully would say it all and certainly look forward to the next visit.
Looked forward to watching a film each night but to no avail as the TV not responding. Staff excellent but obviously out of their control as they seemed to do0 their best.

Excellent Location, restaurant service very good, staff friendly, very clean and quiet. When car was locked into carpark on Sunday morning hotel staff had keys to allow me to get the car out.
Restaurant menu doesn\'t have a great variety for evening meal, it is more like a lunch menu.

I have stayed in the Academy Plaza many times and have been more that satisfied on each occassion. The staff are always very friendly and efficient.
My only minor moan would be having to put hot breakfast items onto cold plates so making it a race to eat the food before it goes cold.

We had read the tripadvisor site in which several people had reported that your standard rooms were small so we upgraded our room on arrival and were very pleased with the space and comfort. (We had not viewed a standard room) Excellent breakfast.
